"How do we get people back to the office after Covid?"
I made this chair for the company Fora Form and their slogan is "Work together, eat together, breath together and relax together".
I agree that working together is important but this way of working is defiantly not for everyone. For example: extroverts charge whilst being around people and introverts generally charge whilst being alone. This means, with Fora Forms current slogan, the office as if now is build for extroverts rather than introverts. For this reason I think people did not come back to the office, because introverts noticed that they had more energy after a full day of working from home.
This chair "the atmosphere" is my answer, it is a place to retreat to, a charging and focus zone.
Aesthetics
The spherical shape creates a natural, soft and welcoming feeling and makes the chair have sound damping qualities.
Table
The table slides in and out the inside of the sphere for easy access.
160 degree view
The uniquely shaped side cut outs of the sphere creates the iconic look of the chair but also allows people who are sitting inside the chair to see their surroundings. Due to this cut out you can see people coming and wont get scared when someone is "all of a sudden" in front of you.
